Bio.
I am a second-year Writing and Publishing student at Okanagan College in Kelowna, where I live in the Lower Mission with my boyfriend and our two cats.
I have had five articles published in the Kelowna Capital News, although Journalism is not necessarily my dream job. It was a great opportunity, however, to get some experience in professional writing. I had the pleasure of writing a series of articles about the recipients of $1500 scholarships from the Central Okanagan Foundation in honour of their 40th anniversary. The Volunteer Spirit Scholarship was awarded to five post-secondary student who have been actively volunteering in their communities. I was able to meet with these amazing individuals, hearing all about the good things they have done. I am so grateful to my communications professor for putting my name out there for the opportunity. The experience was invaluable.
Next year I hope to be attending UBCO to work on a bachelor degree in either Media Studies or Fine Arts. My passion lies in the field of design and would love to explore book and web design, maybe graphic design just for fun. |
